Carlie Stylez : The 1-Day- Flip

Updated: Jan 28, 2019

A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to do a ONE DAY FLIP for the sweetest little family. (If you don't know who Carlie Stylez is, she's basically Idaho's version of a nice, normal Beyonce. (Check out her YouTube Channel HERE.) She was THE BEST to work with - and she somehow managed to keep the whole operation under-raps! Her husband and kids had NO IDEA we were about to rock their world. They left for a few days and came home to a fully-transformed house. How fun is that?!?

Carlie said she wanted her basement to have a little more personality and style and we took that and ran with it.

THE THEATRE ROOM

Here are the BEFORE pictures:

We wanted it to have an upscale modern vintage feel, so we added some over-sized pillows, a unique and functional lamp, some statement art with lighting, some beautiful window coverings, and the rug of my dreams.

And here is the final product...

* For the sconces over the art, we used the Magic Light Trick (find the post HERE. We used THESE puck lights because we needed small ones, but we usually use THESE for larger lights.). All the shelf accessories were found at local stores.

THE HALLWAY:

Down the hallway I knew I wanted to do some minimal (but impactful) art and add some lighting. I also knew I didn't want to blow our entire budget on the beautiful acrylic frames I've been eyeing, so I decided we should roll up our sleeves, get our hands dirty, and make our own! (If you want a full tutorial, you can find it on our Instagram account (ashleywebbinteriors).

THE BEDROOM:

The bedroom was such a fun project. We wanted to create a room that was as cool as the boy living in it. Since he's just on the cusp on teenage-hood, we wanted a room that was playful and young, but also could transition with a growing kid. We kept everything minimal, moved a few things around the room, and added some unique and vintage touches. He loved it (and so did we!)

The PegBoard corner was brought together by our awesome team. The hanging lights were a lucky find at TJMaxx and the wood stake was a left-over piece from another project that I was teased relentlessly for pulling out of the dumpster (jokes on you, friends). We were able to use an extension cord and THIS outlet device that lets you turn all 4 on with a remote.

THE GUEST ROOM

In the Guest Room, we really wanted to infuse a laid-back + cozy + no-fuss vibe. We used the existing bed and added some color and texture. My favorite part of the room is the plant ledge over the bed. It add just the right amount of interest and pulled the whole room together.

Sources: rug / light fixture / shelves (we used 2) / white comforter / duvet insert / nightstand / hidden book ledge / wall sconce / large artwork / desert picture / embrace your weirdness print / camera print / blinds (same as Bedroom) / wood mirror / dot pillows - discontinued, but similar HERE / lumbar pillow - found locally.

* The plants and vases were purchased at local stores and boutiques.

THE KITCHENETTE

The Kitchenette turned out so fun (look at that tile!) and we dressed it up with dishes, glasses, art, and plants found at local stores.

We LOVED working with this sweet family and had the best time doing this ONE DAY FLIP! :)
